About Cameron
I am a current second year Law student at Durham University and hold a unique academic background. I went to school in South Africa, where I undertook the IEB academic curriculum and later enrolled in the A levels academic curriculum. I completed A levels at an institution which was new to this academic set up. Therefore, us few A levels students had to participate in a vast amount of private tutoring and learning, in order to cover the content efficiently. Accordingly, I saw the value these private tutors hold and also learnt how one can effectively tutor. Without their tutoring, I would never have acquired the marks I did nor enrolled at Durham. Private tutoring is a place I see a lot of value and a place where I can add a lot of value, due to the many hours I have been mentored as well as menteed.

I teach concepts in their most simple form, as my previous mentees have predominantly struggled due to their teachers overcomplicating their coursework. This allows for a strong basic understanding of the relevant subject matter and makes the more difficult content much more approachable. I also tutor in a way that ensures topics are conceptually understood, rather than just remembered. By being well versed in the basics of a concept and having a conceptual understanding of the relevant matter, the more complex parts become much more approachable and enjoyable for the student. I further understand that all students are different and learn effectively in varying ways. I value this and create a plan around each student's different styles to ensure they learn effectively, while holding strong to the ideals of simplicity and contextual learning.
