I believe that learning happens best in an informal, encouraging and supportive environment. I am enthusiastic about my subject and aim to make learning fun and enjoyable. Together, we will identify areas of particular need and lessons will be tailored accordingly.
I began studying Ancient Greek at university and I love being able to read ancient texts in the original language!
My Bachelors degree is from the Open University (Humanities with Classical Studies), and my Masters (Classics and Ancient History) is from Queen's University Belfast. I teach Classical Greek to adults at my own classes and at the Belfast Summer School in Latin and Classical Greek of which I am the founder and co-ordinator. I am chair of the Classical Association in Northern Ireland and vice-chair of the Classical Association of Ireland. I am based in east Belfast.
I have taught at summer workshops at the University of Trinity St David at Lampeter (Wales) and have been an Open Learning Tutor at Queen's University Belfast. I teach Greek at Intermediate level at the Belfast Summer School in Latin and Classical Greek, and to a group of adults in Belfast.
I charge £25 per hour for private classes and am happy to discuss a discount for multiple students. As a driver I am able to travel to a location of your choice or can teach at my home in Dundonald on the outskirts of east Belfast.
