Super Tutor

Joshua is one of our best English tutors. They have a high-quality profile, verified qualifications, a quick response time, and great reviews from students!

About Joshua

Hi, I’m Josh! I’m a TEFL-certified English teacher from Cape Town with five years of tutoring experience. I love films, books, writing, travel and music, and I’ve even made a short film.

I teach using the Imaginative Learning System, the method I developed for learning quickly. We picture new words, attach stories to them and use them straight away in real conversation, so they stick.

About the lesson

Who it’s for
Teens and adults whose first language isn’t English, from beginner to advanced.

How a lesson works
- Picture it: new vocabulary comes with images and real situations, not lists
- Story it: we use stories, films and Cape Town life to practise grammar in context
- Recall it: you use what you’ve learned in conversation straight away

We can focus on
- Conversation and confidence
- Grammar and vocabulary you’ll actually use
- Reading, writing and spelling for study or work
- Pronunciation and listening

Visiting Cape Town? Lessons can fit around your trip, and we can keep going online once you’re home, just like Ruslan, who started with me on holiday.

Review

All of our reviews are collected by us and are 100% reliable. They correspond to a real experience lived by students with Joshua.

Perfect! While I was on vacation in Cape Town, I decided to improve my English and Joshua helped me a lot with it. In addition to effective teaching of conversation and English grammar, Joshua told me about the people and culture of South Africa, which helped me on my trip. Now I continue my studies in my own country :)
Thank you Joshua!

Ruslan is an eager and fast learner. He's friendly and always keen on having a conversation, whether as practice or for fun. It's always a joy to give him a lesson.
