About Joshua

I have 20+ years experience playing guitar and singing, specializing in percussive fingerstyle. The amazing thing about modern percussive fingerstyle is that it really can incorporate any style while playing multiple parts of a song. You can be a singer and just accompany yourself with chords and a beat or as an instrumentalist and play the melody on the guitar while playing the bass, beat, and middle parts. I have 5 years experience playing piano. I am very passionate about music and love to share this with others. Current Working With Children Check.

About the lesson

I plan most lessons with this structure: - a warm-up and technical work (15 mins approx) - improvisation or study piece (15 mins approx) - theory - learning a song (15 mins approx) I believe learning music should be fun and creative, I want to help you learn songs that you love to play! I love teaching kids and use a tablet with a range of apps to help make the lessons more fun. Included in the cost are another 30 mins approx I will spend planning your lesson and writing detailed notes which you will receive usually within 24 hrs of your lesson. You will also have access to 1000s of pieces of sheet music and tabs!
