About Cem
Music, in this age of fast consumption, also carries the risk of becoming superficial and standardized. However, it reaches its true richness by containing the most beautiful reflections of life and nature, and the expression of the human soul. In flute training, even the most basic sounds provide an opportunity for a wide variety of colors to meet in their expression. I began playing the flute at the age of 13, taking private lessons but following a path outside the conservatory system. I studied civil engineering in Istanbul and later continued my studies at Case Western Reserve University, Ohio, USA; where I joined orchestras and music courses. Music has always been my companion – through my years in the tech industry, during a decade of hands-on work in sustainable agriculture, and even while writing my books.
Today, I live on the beautiful island of Corfu, Greece, where I play in the Filarmoniki "Kapodistrias". I have also performed in the Netherlands, sharing the stage with talented musicians abroad.
My teaching style is intuitive, personalized, and open to all levels. Whether you are an absolute beginner or returning to the flute after years, we will shape your journey with joy and inspiration.
