About Saffa
I am a sixth form student and although I have not been tutoring for long, the students I have tutored achieved the highest grades. In my own GCSEs I acquired an 8 in English Language and a 7 in English Literature (Edexcel)

My lessons are aimed for students, who are studying for their GCSEs in English, more specifically those who follow the Edexcel exam board. This is because I studied Jane Eyre, Macbeth and The Woman in Black for GCSE so have a thorough understanding of these texts. However, I tutor English language for all exam boards. I will happily teach any student with any learning type as long as you show a willingness to work hard and put in the effort.
I like my lessons to be interactive and engaging, which means I do want to hear your thoughts and opinions as well as telling you mine.
For English Literature I focus on:
- understanding the set texts
- how to understand language and structure in the texts
- themes within the texts and relevant quotations
For English Language I focus on:
- identifying language, form and structure is unseen extracts
- how to successfully compare unseen extracts
- features that help produce a high level piece of creative writing
As a tutor I am fervent about the subject I teach, which means I never stray off of topic. I enjoy hearing contributions and questions from students during my lessons as I believe it benefits their learning and showcases their enthusiasm and interest.
