About Georgina

I am an A-Level Latin student (predicted A*), with A* predictions in History and English as well. I also achieved a grade 9 at Latin GCSE, alongside grade 9s in 10 other subjects. I have been studying Latin for almost 10 years, and very much enjoy both the literature and language aspects. I have helped to tutor friends and family over the past few years, and have worked in schools including many special needs schools, a primary school, and a prep school.

About the lesson

I teach in a friendly, approachable way, and am very happy to adapt to your individual needs. The language aspect of Latin is all about practice and having the confidence to approach exam translations, so I would mainly focus on working through sentences and passages with a view to improving this. Equally, I am happy to do extended lessons on mastering specific aspects of grammar, as this is just as important given that a good grasp of the grammar is essential to both language and literature. In terms of literature, the key to success in GCSE exams is a sound understanding of the text, alongside exam technique, particularly when it comes to answering the longer, more essay-like questions. Therefore, I would focus on helping the student to gain the skills needed for analysis of the literature, but also linking this directly into the technique needed for the exam.
