My primary techniques include:
Communicative Language Teaching (CLT): Focusing on practical, real-life communication scenarios to build fluency.
Adaptive Content Delivery: I routinely adapt content for diverse audiences, including groups with special needs, ensuring inclusive learning opportunities for everyone.
De-escalation and Crisis Management: Utilizing verbal de-escalation skills learned as a Youth Service Specialist to manage learning frustrations and build strong resilience and patience in challenging language areas.
Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) Integration: Applying certified CBT techniques to address learning anxieties, improve focus, and develop positive study habits.
A typical 60-minute lesson is broken down into three flexible stages:
Warm-up & Review (10 min): A quick, engaging activity to activate prior knowledge and practice conversational fluency, incorporating feedback from the previous session.
Core Concept (30 min): Structured instruction focusing on the agreed-upon learning goal (grammar, vocabulary, reading, etc.). This involves interactive demonstrations and collaborative practice to ensure understanding.
Application & Next Steps (20 min): Putting the new concept into immediate use through role-playing, writing exercises, or conversational debate. We conclude by setting clear, achievable goals for the next session.
