Meet Your Tutor: Ayanda Mercy Mchunu
Hello there! I’m Ayanda Mercy Mchunu, and I am thrilled to join you on your journey to mastering English.
Hailing from the beautiful and diverse South Africa, I bring a natural passion for the English language and a warm, 'Ubuntu' spirit to every lesson. I am a professionally qualified educator, holding a Level 5 TEFL Diploma from the world-renowned The TEFL Academy (Class of 2024). This qualification ensures that my teaching is backed by the highest international standards in lesson planning and language instruction.

I am a fun-loving and outgoing person by nature, and I believe that the best learning happens when you are relaxed and enjoying yourself. My Teaching Methodology: Real-Life Conversation
My classes focus on communication first. I believe the best way to learn a language is to use it in the same way you do in your daily life.
Student-Centered Talking: My goal is to maximize Student Talking Time (STT). In a typical lesson, you will do 70% to 80% of the talking while I guide you as a coach.
Real-World Topics: We don't use boring textbooks. Instead, we talk about authentic, everyday topics—like your hobbies, work, or travel—so you learn words you can actually use today.
Fluency Over Perfection: I prioritize your ability to express ideas clearly over perfect grammar. I want you to feel safe to make mistakes, as that is how you build real confidence.
Useful "Language Chunks": Instead of memorizing long lists of grammar rules, I teach you common phrases and expressions that native speakers use every day.
Active Practice: Every lesson includes role-plays or simulations—such as practicing a job interview or ordering at a restaurant—to prepare you for real-life situations.
A Typical 30-Minute Class
Warm-up (5 mins): Casual small talk to get you comfortable.
The Topic (20 mins): We dive into a discussion or role-play using open-ended questions that require more than just a "yes" or "no" answer.
Review (5 mins): A quick recap of new vocabulary and friendly feedback on how to improve for next time
