About River
I have experience working as an online tutor for 6months. I studied English Language and Literature at GCSE, where I received an 8/A* in English Lang, and a 9/A** in English Lit. Afterwards, I went onto study English Lang + Lit at A Level, where I received an A*. I also completed an Extended Project Qualification at A Level in literature analysis, for which I received an A*. I am an avid reader and enjoy analysing literature in my free time; I have a blog where I review and analyse books I've enjoyed. Having recently completed my GCSEs and A Levels, I have a fresh perspective and understanding of what it takes to achieve success. I also participated in the Army Cadet Force, where I frequently taught cadets and also completed a junior instructor's course, which gave me in-depth knowledge of lesson planning.

My lessons are for students preparing for GCSE or A Level exams in English, language or literature and they usually last for 1hr. They are interactive and student led. I believe that lessons should be guided by and personalised for students, so that we can make the most of the time we spend together. In order to achieve this, I regularly provide opportunities for feedback. Having achieved success in every level of my studies thus far, I have developed an in-depth understanding of various studying and revision techniques that allow me to customise my lessons to my students' specific learning styles and needs and allow them to succeed.
