About Skyler

With years of teaching experience in Costa Rica, the Philippines, Norway, Chicago, and Washington State, I've had the privilege of working with students from a wide variety of backgrounds, learning styles, and abilities. These experiences have shaped me into a patient, creative, and adaptable educator who believes every child is capable of success with the right support.

I understand that no two students learn the same way. That's why I use engaging, hands-on activities, technology, games, visual aids, and personalized teaching strategies to make learning meaningful and enjoyable. I especially enjoy working with students with ADHD and other learning differences, using encouragement, positive reinforcement, and reward systems to help them stay motivated, focused, and confident.

More than anything, I am passionate about helping students believe in themselves. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a child go from feeling frustrated or unsure to proudly saying, "I did it!" Watching that confidence grow as they master a new skill is why I love teaching. My goal is to create a supportive, encouraging environment where students feel safe to make mistakes, celebrate progress, and develop a lifelong love of learning.

About the lesson

Every student needs different things but first and foremost is trust and comfortability! I aim to build a relationship so students feel relaxed and ready to try new things. I come with many of my own materials and teaching tools to help motivate and give confidence to those kiddos who need just a little more attention. My lessons combine engaging, hands-on skill practice, interactive technology, and personalized goal setting to create a fun, supportive learning environment where students can build confidence and make meaningful progress.
