About Mikhail
Hi, I'm Mikhail, and I'm a tutor from Canada. I completed my Bachelor's degree in Linguistics and will soon complete my Master's in Linguistics as well. I have years of real-world experience, including tutoring fellow university students online as well as primary & secondary students in-person.
My main subjects as a tutor is linguistics, primarily first and second year university-level linguistics, but also students of other majors taking linguistics courses. In addition, I can help adult learners who need help with English, primarily for acquiring their high school diploma or equivalent. My goal is to help students of all ages with their homework & assignments, and to find their own ways of learning so they can acquire the answers themselves.
My schedule is flexible and I always maintain consistent contact should I or a student need to reschedule. Having recently been a university student myself, I know the struggles of learning, but also the joy, and I would like to help others find their own joy in learning.

- My teaching methodology is fairly straightforward: I first identify the problems the student is facing, and specifically which subject or concept.
- My lesson plan focuses on first explaining any elements the student needs help with via simple but complete explanations, using some straightforward examples. However, I adjust them depending on the students' needs, since I'm helping them with their existing studies.
- I heave real-world experience tutoring primary/secondary students in person, but also fellow university students online, and I'm adept at figuring out not only what other students need, but how they can get the answer through their own methods, rather than me simply explaining it to them. I also was a student myself, and I know the difficulties of trying to grasp difficult concepts, but even then I was able to help fellow linguistics students to better understand their courses.
- My lessons are mainly aimed at linguistics students, primarily first and second year students, but also students of other majors who are taking linguistics courses. I primarily focus on phonology, phonetics, and morphology, but I also have experience with syntax, first and second language acquisition, historical linguistics and psycholinguistics, so I can assist students taking those courses as well.
