My teaching method involves directly engaging students in what they seek to learn by making their lessons interesting and relevant. In doing this, I apply methods of constructivist philosophy such as: challenging student's suppositions, chunking, and seeking relevance. As a tutor, I seek what a student needs to learn, and make it relevant to that student's life.
I am a graduate from the University of Wisconsin: River Falls. I have earned my Bachelor’s of Science degree in English with an emphasis in literature. I have a strong background in education working both privately with residents and in public schools. My position at a family-owned group home has given me nearly three years of experience as a mentor and companion. I have also gleaned experience working directly with students in middle through high school classroom settings through the Teaching Temps. Organization.
