About Suramya

I am an English postgraduate and look forward to tutoring students individually or in small groups. If you are in school and you think that you are being forced to deal with books that are totally incomprehensible and don't make sense to you; or if you are in college and need that extra help with texts that are a little more difficult to engage with- never fear! Coming from an ICSE background, I have been reading and enjoying Shakespeare's plays since my own schooldays. I understand how if done in a drab way, reading English in class can make the subject feel burdensome and pull down marks, especially in school. My endeavor here is to help you understand, engage and have as much fun with stories and poems as I did. Not just academically, even if you need help with preparing for the English portions of competitive exams, all you need is a decent hold over the language and lots of practice- both of which can be worked on.

About the lesson

My focus will be on giving personal attention to each student. Every student comes with a different skill set and level of understanding. I will pitch my class based on the specific needs of the student which can get difficult to do in larger classrooms.

If you are in school, line by line explanations will be given. For college students, close readings will be followed by engagement with the text in context. If you need help with language, explanations and practice will be key.

Writing practice and regular assessment will be done in all cases.
