About Boniswa
Hello and welcome! My name is Boniswa Gazu, and I am a multi-title holder in Ballroom Dancing with years of experience competing and teaching at the highest levels. I have proudly represented KwaZulu-Natal province in many prestigious competitions and had the honor of featuring on Superdance on e.tv, showcasing my passion and dedication to the art of dance. As an award-winning coach, I have trained and mentored more than 50 talented students, many of whom have gone on to shine on competitive and social dance floors. Under my guidance, our school has grown into one of the top ballroom dance schools in South Africa, built on a foundation of excellence, discipline, and joy in movement. My lessons are designed to inspire confidence, nurture talent, and develop technique while ensuring every student enjoys the learning process. Whether you are a complete beginner, a couple preparing for a special occasion, or an aspiring competitive dancer, I bring both professionalism and passion to help you achieve your dance goals. I believe dance is more than just steps—it’s about self-expression, confidence, and connecting with others. With my proven track record, personalized teaching style, and supportive approach, I am committed to helping every student discover their unique rhythm and potential.

My teaching style is student-centered, fun, and confidence-building. I believe ballroom dancing should not only be about learning the steps, but also about expressing yourself, enjoying the music, and feeling comfortable on the dance floor. I take time to understand each student’s goals—whether it’s preparing for a competition, dancing socially, or simply learning a new skill—and I design lessons to suit their pace and learning style.
I am proficient in English and isiZulu, which allows me to connect with a wider range of students and explain techniques in the language they’re most comfortable with.
In a typical lesson, students can expect:
A warm-up to get moving and comfortable.
Step-by-step instruction with demonstrations.
Focus on technique, posture, rhythm, and musicality.
Fun practice routines that help build memory and confidence.
Constructive feedback in a positive, encouraging way.
