About Zaheera

I love learning - no joke! After high school, I took 2 gap years to explore the world and I worked and did short-term studies in Tanzania and Dubai respectively. Even though many people told me I wouldn't want to go back to studying, I did. 6 years later, I still haven't stopped studying! I've completed my undergrad in international politics and business French. I did my Honors in Teaching French as a foreign language and now I'm doing my Master's in Education, specializing in language and literacy and am expecting to graduate cum laude. I love learning languages, so far I speak English, Afrikaans, French, a little bit of Spanish and some Arabic. I also really love planning and organizing things. So I've helped my little brother and a few mentees plan and organize their studies and helped them practice time management skills. I'm that friend that everyone asks to double check their writing assignments or their CVs and cover letters. I have a good eye for catching grammar and spelling mistakes because I read and write a lot.

About the lesson

I've trained to teach using a methodology where students are active learners, using task-based exercises to learn languages. I now use this method across my teaching subjects. If you choose me as a teacher, you'll get to learn while doing. I hate having to rote learn conjugations and I won't make you do that either! I also love using technology in my lessons, so expect online quizzes, interactive worksheets and digital challenges to make your learning more exciting. English level: All levels (Grade 1 - 12 and undergraduate - honors students) French: Beginners (A1 - A2)

Perfect! Zaheera is the best teacher and instructor you could wish for: super polite, humorous, helpful yet professional, patient and encouraging. You really feel that she not only has a lot of experience as an instructor but that she exactly knows what a student needs to make the best progress. She uses all means of teaching to make learning easier (real-life examples, immediate corrections, use of all communication options like audio/video/verbal/written and communication channels, internet pages/apps/presentations) and is flexible in the arrangement of the lessons. I totally recommend her.
