About Consuelo

I have a degree in Hispanic Language and Literature, with mention in Linguistics, so I have good grammatical knowledge of classical Latin but also of the historical transformations that guided the evolution from Latin to other Romance languages, such as Spanish, Portuguese and Italian. My teaching methodology is focused on written understanding of Latin, with a enfasis on reading and its translation into some Romance language. Classes are intended as a balance between grammatical presentation and reading texts with exercises.

About the lesson

The classes begin with a presentation of the typological profile of the Latin language (an Indo-European, flexive language, etc.) and then a basic introduction of the language, starting with basic contents such as nouns and verbs in the present tense for later leade to more complex contents. If the student wants so, the classes can also focus on historical changes from Latin to Romance languages, or to some other particular interest.
