Approach to Tutoring:

My approach to tutoring is rooted in the philosophy of learner-centered instruction. I believe that learning is most effective when it caters to the individual needs, abilities, and learning styles of each student. Therefore, I prioritize getting to know my students, understanding their strengths, areas for improvement, and their learning goals.

Teaching Methodology:

Depending on the subject matter and the student's learning style, I utilize a variety of teaching methodologies. For ESL and English reading, I typically employ a communicative approach, fostering an interactive and engaging environment that encourages students to practice their language skills in real-life contexts. For test prep like IELTS, I focus on familiarizing students with the test format, offering strategic tips, and providing ample practice opportunities with constructive feedback. When guiding students with essay and thesis writing, I employ a process-oriented approach, assisting students from brainstorming ideas, outlining, drafting, to refining and proofreading their work.

Lesson Length:

Lessons typically range from 30 minutes to 1 hour. However, the length can be adjusted based on the student's concentration span, availability, and the intensity of the topic to ensure effective learning.

Qualifications and Experience:

With 3 years of tutoring experience, I have honed my ability to adapt to different learners, break down complex topics, and inspire confidence in students. I hold a Masters in Research degree and have received training in instruction during my role as Teaching Assistant at university, which has equipped me with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively guide students in their learning journey.
