About Kaitlyn

My name is Kaitlyn, and I am currently studying a Master of Teaching (Primary) at the University of Melbourne. I am here to help students who want a little more help with their English studies.

I am an avid reader and in my spare time I can be found working on writing my very own book! I believe English is the foundation in everything we do; from reading a restaurant menu to writing a thesis, we all use engage with our English skills everyday, and it is vital that they are being used to their full potential.

I thought I would share some fun information about myself, so here we go:

1. I grew up on an acreage in the country and now live in the CBD (talk about JUXTAPOSITION)
2. I love all animals: cat, chickens, cows, and even cockroaches (talk about ALTERATION)
3. I find it fun to go for a run, but not in the sun (talk about RHYME)

Okay, so that was a little cheesy, but I had to show you I knew my stuff somewhere!

About the lesson

I am passionate about English; literacy, spelling, essay writing, and all that jazz. I focus on individualising a pedagogical approach to all of my students, and work towards both the Australian and Victorian curriculum, my most popular methods of teaching are: explicit teaching and the moral-philosophical approach.

I understand different students need different lengths of tutoring which is why I offer tutoring from half an hour all the way up to two hours (with a little break in the middle).

I am currently completing my Master of Teaching (Primary) and have been working with students in a school setting since 2020, my undergraduate degree was in Media-Communications and Anthropology, and I have been reading since I was 2 years old, so ultimately I am super passionate about literature and have been reading and writing everyday for the past 2 decades.

As I am studying Primary education, I am currently only offering English lessons to those in Prep-Grade 6, however if you are in a special circumstance, I am more than happy to speak to you.
