My lessons are very personalized to what you need! For those looking to improve their writing skills, build confidence or prepare better for tests and exams, I'm here to help you!
With over 5 years of experience in public speaking and debating at a national level (soon representing Australia in Shanghai!) alongside consistently achieving in English, I bring a strong understanding in communication, essay structure and orals, as well as analytical writing. This allows me to extend that knowledge to students, to teach not just what to write, but different ways of thinking and expressing ideas effectively.
I tutor Year 7-9 English, lessons aligned to the Victorian Curriculum.
A typical 1-hour online lesson (1.5-hour lessons available too) is conducted via Zoom using an online whiteboard and usually includes:
- Homework and classwork review
- Working through texts students are studying at school
- Essay structure, practice text response, language analysis and creative writing skills
- Teaching concepts (themes and motifs)
- Guided practice using exemplar responses + exam-style questions
My teaching approach is quite structured and supportive, to allow you to learn at a pace and method that suits you :)
My aim is to help students become confident, independent writers, to provide them feedback through targeted practice I provide, to reinforce what has been covered in our lessons :)
