About Mingjie
I have over 11 years of teaching experience, over 5 years of tutoring experience, and a Masters Degree in Education.
I have taught private, public, and charter schools.
I have received the Outstanding Educator's Award from Inner City Education Foundation in 2007.
Today, I am designing an online education program for a non-profit I founded in 2005 that is still thriving, building, and expanding.

English
English Lessons are based on socratic seminar and inquiry based instructions. In other words, one begins to learn when one begins to critically think. The teacher's job is to develop the critical thinking skills, the way of problem-solving, and the patience / kindness one needs for the learning process of getting to the correct answer.
A typical lesson plan involves an opening activity that introduces the problem of the math equation or thesis / theme of the english lesson. Then, when the problem is introduced, there will be video lessons, research articles, and supplemental information for the student to search, learn, and answer. The closing instruction typically have students reflect on those lessons, specifically why they got it right and wrong.
What sets me apart from other tutors is my teaching style caters to the learning style of the student. There is no one size fits all way of teaching. It's a dance and that dance also changes according to the type of song. Same with student learners.
These lessons are for anyone who is struggling with algebra, literature, reading, writing, and creative writing.
