Meet Ukelia Pearson: A Dedicated Educator Committed to Student Success
I am Ukelia Pearson, a Master’s prepared Early Childhood Educator and Ph.D. candidate in Curriculum and Instruction with a passion for helping students achieve academic success. With classroom experience as a first-grade teacher and a strong foundation in early childhood education, I bring knowledge, patience, and research-based instructional practices to every learning experience.
My teaching philosophy is built on the belief that every student has the ability to grow when provided with the right support, encouragement, and learning opportunities. I create a positive and welcoming environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and developing confidence in their abilities.
I specialize in supporting elementary learners in grades K–3 through literacy instruction, phonics development, reading comprehension, writing, foundational math skills, and academic enrichment. My approach combines structured literacy strategies, differentiated instruction, hands-on activities, and personalized learning techniques to meet students at their individual levels.
As an educator with advanced preparation and real classroom experience, I understand the importance of building strong relationships with students while providing instruction that is engaging, meaningful, and effective. I am a Master’s prepared Early Childhood Educator and Ph.D. candidate in Curriculum and Instruction with classroom experience as a first-grade teacher. My tutoring approach focuses on helping students build confidence, strengthen academic skills, and develop a love for learning through engaging, research-based instruction.
I specialize in supporting students in grades K–3 with reading, phonics, literacy development, writing, foundational math skills, homework support, and academic enrichment. My lessons incorporate structured literacy strategies, explicit instruction, hands-on activities, guided practice, and individualized learning plans based on each student’s needs.
A typical lesson begins by identifying the student’s current skill level and learning goals. I provide direct instruction, model strategies, practice skills together, and allow students opportunities to demonstrate independence. I use ongoing feedback and encouragement to help students make measurable progress.
What sets me apart is my combination of advanced education, real classroom experience, and dedication to student success. As an educator who has worked with diverse learners, I understand the importance of patience, differentiation, and creating a supportive learning environment where every student feels capable of achieving their goals.
My goal is to help students become confident learners by providing instruction that is meaningful, engaging, and tailored to their individual strengths.
