About Daphney

With 10 years of experience teaching elementary children, I use various methods, primarily the Montessori approach. As a reading and language expert with a keen interest in mathematics and geometry, I ensure a well-rounded, engaging educational experience for your child.

About the lesson

Hi! I cater to individual needs using a Montessori approach, integrating multiple assessments to tailor learning. My method fosters independence and critical thinking, ensuring a personalized and engaging educational experience that adapts to each student’s unique learning style and progress.

In my classes, I will provide the materials needed and as well as different programs I have used through my years of teaching. At the same time, I will also make sure to use what works for your child.

Good! She is knowledgeable, my child had online lessons with her for two months. He had difficulty expanding on his writing. For the first month, Daphney would discuss with my child what to write about, however she would do all the work and then have my child copy down paragraphs from the screen that she had written based out of my child’s conversation; this was in spite of the fact that she had two hours a week with him for tutoring. Upon asking her to change her methodology, and to additionally, have my child show each writing process step, there were difficulties implementing requests like ensuring he dates all of his work, ensuring the last 30 minutes out 90 were used to correct grammar and sentence flow. We asked to just focus on doing one topic per session, just a page would be enough but seemed in a rush to complete multiple every time. My child only just finished 2nd grade, and doesn’t have an extensive knowledge of grammatical rules but Ms. Daphney expected him not to start writing with conjunctions without explaining what a conjunction is.
