My approach to tutoring is centered on making mathematics understandable, approachable, and relevant to each student. I believe students learn best when they understand why a concept works rather than simply memorizing steps. I first identify the student’s current level of understanding and any gaps in their foundational skills, then tailor my instruction to meet their individual needs.

I use clear explanations, guided practice, visual examples, questioning, and real-world applications. I break complex problems into manageable steps and encourage students to explain their thinking, build confidence, and become more independent.

Lessons begin with a quick review, followed by instruction and worked examples. Students then practice with guidance before working independently. Each session ends with a review of key skills and recommended practice.

I am patient, encouraging, and experienced in supporting students with different abilities, learning needs, and confidence levels. I identify gaps in foundational skills and explain concepts in ways that work best for each student.

I can work with elementary, middle, and high school students in math, including foundational skills, pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, problem-solving, homework help, and test preparation. I also support students who benefit from slower, structured, and individualized instruction.
