About Umid

I graduated summa cum laude with a double major in Computer Science and Mathematics and am currently a graduate student at UIUC pursuing a Master's in Computer Science.

As the son of a physics professor, my journey into mathematics began early, driven by a lifelong fascination with its elegance and purity. This passion inspired me to start tutoring at age 17, helping peers master challenging concepts.

I genuinely enjoy connecting with students, breaking down complex topics into plain English, and helping others realize their full potential. I am always responsive and happy to answer questions or schedule an introductory session.

About the lesson

I offer a free consultation to discuss the learner's needs, goals, and preferred methods. During this meeting, I focus on two key questions:

1. Why does the student need tutoring?

2. What do they already know?

Regular sessions follow this structure:

1. Reviewing homework and concepts from the previous lesson

2. Exploring a new topic through discussion

3. Working through sample exercises together

After the lesson, I provide tailored homework and additional resources for further practice.
