About Madeline
I was a Mathematics Teacher's Assistant, specifically Calculus. As a TA I taught a co-requisite class for Calculus students, held one-on-one sessions and group sessions to review concepts from class, and I led AP review sessions.
I was a tutor for a program called SMath tutors where I taught an 8 week Calculus course over zoom for a group of six students.
I participated in a mathematics research program where I solved an unsolved problem from the College Mathematics Journal. This program culminated in a research paper and several presentations to my peers and faculty.

I think it is really important to learn not just how to solve the problem but why it works. This stems from learning materials rather than memorizing facts. I also think failure is crucial to growth in the learning process.
A lesson with me will consist of a basic overview and then going into practice problems, providing background knowledge when it is necessary. I am a big fan of proofs because nothing in math is magic. A proof is where you use logic to show that a mathematical concept is true. I will also give practice problems to work on after the time of instruction.
I will tutor elementary through high school level math. My specialties are Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Precalculus, AP Calculus, and SAT/ACT math.
