About Doris

I graduated from university with distinction and now hold a Bachelor's degree in science. I majored in Microbiology and minored in Biotechnology and also participated in the co-op program. I recently started working full-time as a Microbiology Analyst for the federal government so I am constantly still learning.

Throughout university, I have been on the dean's honour roll in all my semesters except one. I have built great studying habits and learned how to help others along the way. Whenever my friends struggled with a concept in class, I always tried my best to help them out by utilizing all the tools we have today (Youtube videos, journal articles, textbooks...etc.). I am very patient and empathetic towards the struggles of not understanding or excelling in a topic. It just takes time, which can mean re-learning the very basics again, but I am here to help :D.

About the lesson

What sets me apart from the other tutors is that I am highly patient and accomodating to any student's needs or struggles. I will take my time to explain everything above and beyond so that students can excel in their studies. I am also able to help with cover letters and resume writing prep. I have lots of experience with applying to jobs throughout my 5 years as a co-op student in university.

I will take time to go over and understand every aspect of your homework or assignments so that I can provide the best overall experience.

I will start lessons with basic information on the topic and then gradually build upon that to reach higher levels of thinking. It is always good to have the backbone understanding of a topic before delving into all the details. This will help the learner retain and understand their material better.

My lessons are for grade school and middle school students.
