About Miriam

- What kind of experience do you have?

I have performed professionally in many West End shows in London as well as at many other corporate events and venues. I have my own private teaching practice as well as being employed by Hutchesons Grammar school and various stage schools.

- Do you have an up-to-date DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service, formerly CRB) Certificate?

Yes I have an up to date DBS.

- Where and with whom did you train?

I trained at Arts Educational Schools London and at the dance School of Scotland under Graham Dickie. I have also had training and attended courses with Mark Meylan and Gillyanne Keyes.

- Do you belong to any professional organisations?

I am a member of actors Equity.

- Tell me about some of your current students.

I have a wide range of students currently. Some children and teens who are preparing for Trinity exams currently. I have had some older teens audition and gain places to drama schools. I have a few adult students who are involved in amateur dramatics or pop/rock groups who want to improve their technique and range. I also have many adults who some just for the fun and challenge of it or indeed as a confidence booster for presentations at work or interviews aswell as a few working professionals too. Quite a range!

- Which subject(s) do you teach?

I teach singing (all styles but with a classical technique base) and speech/voice

I can help you with:Breath control, Vocal quality, Range, Confidence, Performance Technique, Audition prep, Repertoire, Preparing for exams and competitions

- Tell me about your qualifications.

I have a BA Hons degree in Musical Theatre.

- How much do you charge?

I charge:
£18 for 30 minutes
£25 for 45 minutes
£30 for 60 minutes

- Where do you teach?

I teach from my home and can arrange Skype lessons if necessary.

- When are you available?

I generally teach Monday - Thursday day and evening up to 9pm. I teach also on a Friday during the day and sometimes in the evening if I don't have a performance myself.

- Which ages and levels do you teach?

I teach any age from 5 upwards. I also take people of all levels and abilities from complete beginners to professionals.

- Which qualifications do you prepare your students for?

I can prepare students for Trinity or ABRSM graded exams.

- Describe your arrangements for online tutoring.

I can tutor you online but would be helpful if you have backing tracks for any songs you'd like to work on during your online lessons.

- Do you have a personal message for students?

Singing is a fantastic fun or indeed professional endeavour. It can be challenging and as with anything in life the work you put in in your own time will be the making of your progress. I like to create a relaxed and hopefully fun environment for my students. We laugh a lot!
