About Yoshie

こんにちは！Konnichiwa!

I'm a native Japanese speaker and qualified Japanese teacher based in Melbourne, with a Master of Teaching (Secondary) from Monash University.

Growing up in Hong Kong with both Japanese and Chinese cultural backgrounds has given me a strong appreciation for languages and cultural exchange. I have experience teaching Japanese in Victorian secondary schools and around four years of private tutoring experience with learners of different ages and abilities.

I'm a calm, creative, and patient teacher who enjoys making Japanese learning engaging and accessible. Nothing makes me happier than seeing a student finally grasp a challenging concept!

Outside of teaching, I enjoy anime, manga, embroidery, and nail art.

I look forward to helping you build confidence and enjoy learning Japanese! よろしくお願いします！

About the lesson

My Japanese lessons are interactive and tailored to your learning goals and interests!

As a qualified Japanese teacher with experience in Victorian secondary schools and private tutoring, I offer:

Beginner Japanese Lessons & Travel Survival Course
- Structured, beginner-friendly lessons using slides, guided practice, and interactive activities.
- Planning a trip to Japan? Learn essential survival Japanese for everyday situations, such as ordering food, shopping, asking for directions, and using public transport.

️ VCE Japanese Oral Exam Preparation
- Conversation-focused practice to improve fluency, confidence, and natural expression.
- Personalized feedback and notes to help you develop stronger responses and prepare for your oral examination.

Tailor-Made Japanese Lessons
- Lessons designed around your interests, learning needs, and personal goals.
- A balance of structured learning and conversation practice to keep lessons engaging and meaningful.

As the Japanese saying goes, 「継続は力なり」(Keizoku wa chikara nari) — Consistency is strength. Just like the English saying "practice makes perfect", I believe regular practice and small steps lead to meaningful progress!

My goal is to create a relaxed, supportive environment where you feel comfortable making mistakes while being encouraged to improve!
