About Merritt
I'm a National Board Certified Teacher (highest nationally recognized teaching credential in the US) with 6 years of classroom teaching experience and nearly 10 years of private tutoring. My educational background includes a Master's degree and Bachelor of Arts in English Literature with a minor in history/social studies where I graduated magna cum laude (3.93 GPA). In my free time I love traveling, hiking, reading, and spending time with my dog :)

My approach is individualized and specific for each of my students. No cookie-cutter lessons! I take the time to learn my students' strengths, challenges, and interests so I can build an individualized program to help them build skills, readiness, and confidence. My students have gained admission to top universities, improved test performance, and built skills to improve their performance in class and beyond. I work with students at the middle school, high school, undergraduate, and graduate level. With over 6 years of classroom teaching and private tutoring experience, I bring expertise and experience to help students meet their goals and excel beyond their limits.
