About Trisha

Hi, I'm Trisha (a junior in high school) and I'm so excited to work with you to develop your reading and writing skills! I believe that every single person has a special voice when it comes to writing, and I would love to help you express that voice. I have always had straight A's when it comes to essays and have won the prestigious national Scholastics award for poetry in addition to getting my short stories published in a book when I was in elementary school. I want to help students achieve their goals one step at a time and at a pace that doesn't leave anybody behind.

About the lesson

-These lessons will be helpful for mainly middle schoolers and highschoolers (grades 6-12), but the foundational skills can be applied to elementary schoolers as well.
-I feel it's important for students to develop a unique voice when it comes to writing and learn to lay their words on a page in a way that expresses exactly how they feel about a subject.
-Each lesson will start with a quick writing prompt as a warm-up to get their ideas flowing. This will be followed by a lesson in either grammar, essay-wring, or creating writing. There will be a few practice drills after each of these lessons where students will be guided on how to specifically improve their writing. They will also sometimes be given pre-written essays and asked how to correct them to achieve a better grade.
-As a highschooler who has consistently excelled in English classes, I know what teachers are looking for and can drill those skills into other students. Further, I have won several prestigious awards for poetry and short stories, making me qualified to give my strategies for creative writing and how to bloom baseline ideas in beautiful projects.
