Nĭ Hăo! My name is Katie, currently a full-time student, I have been a Mandarin Tutor and EFL Tutor for the past 3 years!

As I am half-Chinese, I am a native speaker in both English and Mandarin with a standard dialect. As many past and present students have said, this is the best of both worlds in terms of receiving tuition - you are taught accurate, authentic Mandarin with comprehendible English and no language barriers!

As a recent High School Graduate, and having achieved full UMS in my GCSE Mandarin qualification with full raw marks in 3/4 units and an A* at A-Level, I am here to help you achieve the top grades with strong knowledge of exam technique. Tailoring your study programme to what is exactly in your specification, instead of merely memorising phrases your teacher has given you, we'll work together to make sure you understand what it is you're actually learning. Having gone through the learning process myself, I'm here to help you make sense of what is one of the most challenging languages out there, with tips and tricks that I've found along the way. With teaching methods a little more unconventional than what you're probably used to, I hope to make learning Mandarin an enjoyable process and one that won't make you want to tear your hair out!

For more casual learners, we aren't bounded by specifications so you have the complete freedom to decide what exactly it is you want to learn about. Whether it be purely conversational Mandarin to cultural studies to Chinese brush painting, we can come up with a fun programme of study. Our first lesson is complimentary and it is where we will spend time building up your student profile and going through your expectations from me as a tutor. We will also be assessing your ability and addressing your aims from tuition to create a suitable learning programme to get you to the level you want. I will also give you a small taster of what a typical lesson will be like. I look forward to meeting you soon!
