About Richard

I was born in Brazil to an English father and a Brazilian mother, so I grew up speaking both languages at home. I went to English-speaking schools from the beginning of my student career, and eventually concluded my schooldays in England in a boarding school. I studied Social Studies at Liverpool Polytechnic and later Letras in Brazil. I have also done many written translations such as a contract between FIFA and Mendes Hotel Group for the World Cup in Brazil, face-to-face translations in hospitals in London and have been singing in classic rock bands in Brazil for many years.

About the lesson

I focus mainly on the personal needs of each student. I start with the structure of the English language, where there is a lack of knowledge, and lead on to reading, writing, and text interpretation from there. I like to include culture, history, music, history, and eventually stories to make lessons more interesting. One of my students was an American who had to learn to speak in a Cockney accent for a play he was acting in, AND WE HAD LOTS OF FUN TOGETHER.

Richard taught me English during my whole high school and I can assure he is a complete professional, understand well the language and it's really easy to understand his lessons.
