About Phoebe

Hi, I’m Phoebe, a 19-year-old A-level graduate and native English speaker based in Brighton & Hove.

I studied Biology, Chemistry, and Economics at A-level, and also completed an Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), receiving an A for my research on social status and inequality.

I’ve always had a strong passion for language, writing, and communication. I’m especially skilled in English grammar, punctuation, spelling, and pronunciation—all of which I now teach to students who want to improve their English for school, exams, or everyday life.

Outside of tutoring, I enjoy reading non-fiction, crocheting, and producing music. I’ve also worked as an independent author on Amazon KDP and currently run a blog where I write about politics and social issues — experiences that have helped me develop a clear, expressive writing style and a deep understanding of how language shapes the world around us.

As a tutor, I am friendly, patient, and committed to helping each student feel more confident and capable in their English skills. Whether you're preparing for an exam or just want to speak and write more clearly, I’m here to help you reach your goals.

About the lesson

Each lesson is 1 hour long and takes place online, making it easy and flexible to fit into your schedule.

Lessons are designed to help you improve your overall English skills, with a strong focus on:

KEY VOCABULARY – Understand and use useful words and phrases across a range of topics (e.g. school, work, travel, daily life).

SPELLING AND PRONUNCIATION – Learn how to spell and pronounce English words clearly and confidently.

GRAMMAR AND PUNCTUATION – Build a strong foundation in the rules of English and how to apply them accurately.

READING AND COMPREHENSION – Go through short texts together, discussing meaning, structure, and language use.

SPEAKING AND LISTENING – Practise real-life conversation skills and exam-style speaking tasks to boost fluency.

Lessons are tailored to your needs — whether you're learning English as a second language, preparing for an exam (like IELTS, GCSE, or similar), or simply looking to feel more confident using English in everyday situations.
