About Helen
I am a native English speaker currently working on a doctorate degree in medicine in Chicago, IL. Previously, I have experience teaching English to students in South Korea as well as aiding college-level international students in Cincinnati, OH and Los Angeles, CA. I also have 3 years of experience editing/proofreading an architectural publication in New York, NY. A friendly, compassionate, and flexible person, I am confident to make the tutoring session work for you and your unique needs!

My philosophy is to first observe the interests and patterns of the student in order to establish customized lesson plans and communication styles tailored to each individual.
- Start by reviewing goals/objectives of the session
- Review any material from prior session
- Dive into the material (homework, projects, etc.)
- Overview of session and set goals for next session
I can work with students from the age of 4-18, adults who speak English as a second language, and anyone who wants extra practice with the English language.
