About Kaitlyn
Hey, thanks for taking a moment to check out my profile. My name is Kaitlyn, but feel free to call me Kaity. I am a Las Vegas native, born and raised, with a passion for helping others. Previously, I wanted to pursue psychology and started that journey as a Registered Behavioral Therapist. I really fell in love with helping children but wanted to expand my demographic and my focus a bit more. After taking the last year to travel, I rediscovered my passion for teaching through an English teaching school in Turkey. Additionally, I have helped native speakers of Japanese, Spanish, French, Albanian, Portuguese, German, and Dutch—and I am sure a few other languages. I know some basics of French and Spanish, which I feel helps make teaching English to any Latin-based language speaker much smoother. Obviously, that's not a limitation, though. As a person, I am very sociable and really enjoy learning about others, which helps my students feel more seen and remain present in sessions. I'm looking forward to meeting you and helping you on your learning journey!

I offer one-on-one or group lessons with an interactive model. When teaching English, we will review vocabulary, grammar, phonetics, and spelling. We will touch base on trends and concepts within the English language and focus on how to interact in English similarly to a native speaker—all through an entirely immersive approach. We will use role-play, games, and learning through definition (instead of translation) to ensure you have not just the information, but the knowledge of how to incorporate it into everyday life with confidence. All of my English teaching is built around your comfort and learning style, helping you feel confident with your future studies, jobs, and interactions around the world. I can aid in your exam preparation no matter the topic. I will use our first lesson to find your learning style, understand your current level of knowledge, and build a schedule around the most efficient way to ace your exam with confidence. Through active recall, the Feynman technique, metacognitive questioning, error analysis, and concept mapping, your information recall will feel like second nature, reducing test anxiety and increasing positive outcomes both in your scores and future jobs or studies. As a proofreader, I value accuracy, attention to detail, and continuity. Notes given won't just be on the basics; I will also provide feedback on the voice of your work, keeping the style unique to you while keeping the reader interested and reinforcing your point (something I fear AI strips us of). Prior to reading the material myself, I would like to hear you speak the material as you intended it to sound. This will give me a better understanding of your tone and which points you are choosing to emphasize. As a tutor with a year of experience as a Registered Behavioral Therapist, my focus throughout all of my sessions will be positive reinforcement, patience, understanding, and creating a space where students feel safe to speak up and heard when they do. We will also focus on positive self-talk and learning how to take constructive criticism in stride. Looking forward to meeting you!
