About Scarlett

Hi! I’m a native Chinese speaker from Hong Kong, and I’ve lived and studied in Hong Kong, Guangzhou, and the United States.

Growing up in different places has allowed me to experience different languages, cultures, and ways of communicating. I speak Cantonese, Mandarin, and English, and I understand firsthand what it’s like to learn a new language.

I’m currently a high school student in the Bay Area with experience in tutoring and teaching.

I enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds and sharing not just the language, but also the culture, expressions, and everyday conversations that make it come alive!

I believe the best way to learn a language is to actually use it!

Whether you’re learning Chinese for school, work, travel, family, or simply out of curiosity, I’d love to help!

I welcome students of all ages, from young children to adults, and I adjust my teaching style, materials, and lesson pace to suit each student’s age, level, and learning goals.

You can also choose whether you’d like to learn Pinyin! Some students prefer to focus on speaking and listening, while others want to learn reading, writing, and pronunciation through Pinyin. I’m happy to build lessons around what works best for you.

I teach both Mandarin and Cantonese, and I can explain everything in English whenever needed.

Most importantly, I want you to feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and enjoying the process of learning a new language!
