About Jack

I have been teaching the Self-Actualization of Responsible Freedom for all ages 3 to 80, around the world since 1993. What is "Self-Actualization"? Modifying Maslow: What humans must be, they can be. This work I call Self-Actualization.

“While we teach knowledge, we are losing that teaching which is the most important one for human development: the teaching which can only be given by the simple presence of a mature, loving person.” Erich Fromm

I show you why and how to get and stay free in an increasingly unfree world (think Covid19-84 a la Orwell). What is “Responsible Freedom”? Two quotes sum it: “Freedom is the will to be responsible for ourselves.” Friedrich Nietzsche “Liberty is the prevention of control by others.” Lord Acton.

Before becoming a teacher, I was an entrepreneur starting up and managing my own businesses including architecture and building, women’s clothing design and manufacture, as well as inventing and marketing patented household products.

Before becoming a businessman I worked in British Columbia, Canada as a lumberjack-boom man, tree planter, carpenter, and house painter. I had my first paying job when I was eight years old. I had my first car at 12. I taught myself to become a mechanic and built and raced "hot rods". I have always been an autodidact, that is, a self-taught, self-directed learner.

I am a published author, poet and philosopher. I am an editor for undergraduate and postgraduate papers and theses. I love words and share my enthusiasm for etymology, the historical origin and development of words.

I was a relationship counsellor for Relationships Australia Queensland. I was on Australia T.V. as a Relationship Consultant with my own business “Partners For Life” matching and enabling life mature singles who desired permanent partnerships.

I worked in Palliative Care, teaching care for the terminally ill as well as Mental Health, doing research on and caring for schizophrenics, bipolars and depressives.

With a bachelor degree from Queensland University of Technology in Social Science, Human Services, I taught Aged Care classes. In Adult Community Education in Queensland, I taught courses for Women Only on Men; and for Men Only on Women, based on Evolutionary Psychology.

In China from 2003 to 2015, I taught English and a range of Business, Arts and Humanities courses in English for businesses and schools from primary to university levels.

I was the full-time carer for two wives who died from terminal cancer their hands and minds in mine to their last breath. I took care of my adopted son, a “schizophrenic”, who finally took his own life.

My epitaph: Nothing to Conceal. Nothing to Reveal. Only the Real with which to Deal. From the Love of Wisdom and Liberty, through Katharine my Other Half, I came to the Wisdom and Liberty of Love.

About the lesson
