About Elion

Hello! My name is Elion. I come from Albania and I am 48 years old. I have a military formation. I have a degree in Political Science and I am specialized in International Relations. I have worked for 22 years in state administration. Now I am retired. Recently I have started to teach English online and I have found this new experience very interesting since the beginning. I started to learn English when I was a child at school and I have had occasion to improve my level of English language during the years, studying at school, on my own, watching movies in the English language, reading books, reading articles, and sometimes translating materials from English, etc. Now I have a good level of English and also good writing skills and a good attention to detail, so I would like to continue further in this path as I found myself very comfortable in this new experience of online teaching.

About the lesson

There are different approaches and elements to take into consideration when speaking about how to teach English or any other language online. One approach could be the one that concentrates more on conversational and speaking skills where the students are encouraged to speak and interact as much as possible giving priority to the fluency of the language.
Also, other important aspects of teaching English are the writing skills, vocabulary, and grammar if you want to be serious about acquiring a foreign language such as English.
One other method could be the one where is the student is given an article, material to read and to understand, this can be done before or during the class. If the material is given before the class the student will be more prepared for the lesson. Of course this could be done when possible because there are cases where the students do not have time to study before class. The students will be given some time to see and read the materials and together with the tutor they can discuss about new words, how to use them in contests and in phrases. After that the students or tutor reads loud the material.
Also it is possible to make questions about the article to the student and also exercises too. This method is a very popular and recommended for building up the vocabulary.
Also, other important aspects of teaching English are writing skills and grammar if you want to be serious about acquiring a foreign language such as English.
