About Esme Michaela

I have taught drama since I was a teenager, initially volunteering at my local theatre as a teaching assistant for their drama clubs. Once I was in sixth form I decided to run my own drama club, with weekly meetings and rehearsals, resulting in a show for parents and friends to watch. I continued pursuing my passion for teaching whilst in further education, studying acting, at The New York Film Academy. Here I taught the 'Improv Collective' where we would meet twice a week to rehearse long-form improvisation as well as attending a performance jam once a week at a renowned improvisation and comedy theatre 'The Pit'.

Over the past three years I have been building up my teaching experience and credentials. Some of which include;
- Facilitating sessions to help disadvantaged young people learn life skills such as goal setting, resilience and boundaries.
- Teaching performing arts to adults with learning disabilities.
- Leading one to ones with care leavers to help them create plans for the future.
- Teaching acting techniques to young people.

Along side this I have been building my credits as a professional actor. Some of my highlights include;
- Performing in a weekly spot at the Broadway Comedy Club with my improvisation team.
- Making my TV debut in Quest Red's 'Deadliest Mums and Dads'.
- Writing and producing a solo-show and taking it on the full run at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
- Making my stand up debut.

About the lesson

No two actors are the same, therefore every actors career looks different.

My coaching will help you decide what you would like yours to look like and break down the steps that will get you there, whether you are taking your GCSE's and deciding what step to take next of if you are feeling stuck in a rut since graduating drama school.

In our first, free session we will discuss who you are and what makes your journey unique, this will help me gain a better understanding of what you need from me. I will create a tailored plan to your wants and individual goals, so you can get the most out of your time with me.

Each lesson will look different depending on what you feel you need, I cover a range of topics from; goal setting for actors, improvisation, self-tape technique, audition prep, monologue prep, marketing yourself and finding work.

My priority is leaving you with skills and knowledge that will enable you to put what you have learnt into practice with resources that you can use to help you stay accountable to yourself.

Details

The first lesson is a 30 minute free consultation where we can have a chat and I can learn a little bit more about your needs.
After that the lessons are £25 an hour, with discounts if you book a pack.
