About Lawrence
About Lawrence Lawrence Cole is a multi-disciplinary performer with over a decade of professional experience across stage, screen, and music. A graduate of Rose Bruford College’s renowned Actor Musicianship BA, Lawrence combines rigorous theatrical training with a natural flair for storytelling, musicality, and improvisation. He is currently appearing as ‘Trev’ in the critically acclaimed cabaret show House of Life, touring major London venues including Soho Theatre, Brixton House, Park Theatre and Wilton’s Music Hall, with an international transfer to New York in 2025. On screen, Lawrence has featured in major productions such as Netflix’s Supacell, ITV’s Three Little Birds, and the cult classic Skins (E4). Before training as an actor, Lawrence was a founding member of the successful indie-pop band Dog Is Dead. From playing school assemblies in Nottingham to performing twice at Glastonbury, signing with Atlantic Records, releasing a Top 40 album, and appearing in a live cameo on Skins, the band enjoyed a vibrant career on the UK and European music scene from 2007–2016. Lawrence contributed as a songwriter, vocalist and instrumentalist (bass guitar, saxophone, and keys), while also playing a key role in the band’s creative identity – from music videos and album artwork to interviews, online presence and tour concepts. His background as both a professional actor and musician gives him a unique insight into performance, communication, collaboration and creativity – all of which feed into his teaching style. Lawrence is passionate about helping others unlock their potential and believes that acting is for everyone – not just the elite few. Whether you’re aiming for drama school or just beginning your creative journey, you’ll find Lawrence’s approach grounded, generous and full of practical insight.
