Methodology
One of the reasons I enjoy tutoring so much is the one on one relationship I build with the students I work with. Personally, there are few things I find more energizing and inspiring than witnessing students grow and learn right in front of my eyes.
Background
In high school, I founded a tutoring program and summer camp for inner-city middle students. Every week, other high school students who I recruited helped students with their homework. One of the biggest things I learned is how important and confidence-building it is for a student to have someone who consistently shows up for and encourages them. Especially in the demographic I was serving, students having a positive role model in their corner made all the difference in their motivation and dedication to their school work.
