About Kamaria
I have over 10 years of experience tutoring English and Writing, specifically for elementary, middle, and high school students. I have tutored well over 50 students, in both group settings as well as individually. With my help, many of my students have gone from a solid D average to As and Bs. My major was focused heavily in Writing and HR Management, so I have a lot of experience with college-level writing.

My philosophy is that teaching should be specialized to the student. When in school, teachers have to try to get all the students to learn the same things the same way. Oftentimes, however, students fall behind because their individual needs are not met or enough time is not allotted to helping with the student’s specific struggles. My tutoring approach is less about pressuring a student and more about encouraging. Writing can be very intimidating, and I find students don’t respond well to negativity and harsh methods. I mention this because I think that it's important for both the tutor and parent to be on the same page. I know, for me personally, what helped me to begin enjoying writing was that it was presented to me in an encouraging and low-pressure way. I hope that that is okay.

If you let me know at least 2 days in advance that a session while be cancelled, you won’t be charged. Any session cancelled within the 24-hour time range of a booked session while be charged full price as a completed session. Make-up sessions will be charged full price as well.
