About Katie

I am originally from the UK and moved to New Zealand in 2022 to explore the beautiful country and all it has to offer.

As a newly qualified TEFL tutor, I am keen to share my knowledge in a fun, engaging and supportive manner.

In my spare time I enjoy hiking, camping, reading and eating delicious food! I am currently getting to do all of my favourite things as I travel around New Zealand in my trusty campervan, Gigi.

Back home in the UK, I most recently worked as a commercial property Surveyor in Shrewsbury, Shropshire (the home of Darwin). But I have also worked in retail, administration, finance, student welfare and most importantly a luxury doggy day care!

I look forward to helping you build confidence in English.

About the lesson

We will talk prior to your first lesson to discuss what you would like to achieve and build a lesson plan personal to you. I aim to make lessons engaging and fun in order to optimise your learning. I love to incorporate genuine materials on topics my students enjoy.

Lesson can be 30, 45 or 60 minutes for students aged 12 and over.

I have a Level 5 (168 hour) TEFL certificate with additional training specifically for online teaching.

I graduated from university with a degree in History. A few years after graduating I returned to complete a Masters degree in Media History.

He expresses himself clearly on familiar topics and picks up new vocabulary and phrases quickly. Moving forward, we are going to concentrate on expressing ideas fluently and spontaneously on more complex topics. I look forward to continuing our lessons!
