About Sofia
My name is Sofia, I am a motivated high school student entering my junior year with a passion for language arts, writing, and communications. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, going to the beach, watching sunsets and sunrises, and working out. After high school, I hope to pursue a career in journalism, or even communications.

As a junior in high school, I have strong experience in Language Arts, including essay writing, grammar, spelling, reading comprehension, creative writing, public speaking, and test preparation. During my sophomore year of high school, I served as President of my Creative Writing class, where I helped lead class discussions, participated in public speaking presentations, and revised and edited numerous stories and writing projects.
My goal as a tutor is to help students build confidence while improving their academic skills. I believe every student learns differently, so I adapt my teaching style to meet their individual needs. A typical lesson includes reviewing current assignments, identifying areas that need improvement, practicing key concepts, and learning study strategies that students can use independently. I also provide help with essay organization, proofreading, grammar correction, reading comprehension, vocabulary development, and test preparation.
I strive to create a positive and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing the skills they need to succeed both in and out of the classroom.
I want all of my students to feel comfortable while in this process.
