About Emilia
I hold a BA from the University of Oxford and an MSc from Imperial College London, both in Biomedical Sciences. I'm currently working as a cancer researcher in Italy and will be starting my PhD in Immunology at The Francis Crick Institute in October. With several years of tutoring experience, I’ve helped students gain admission to top universities and complete demanding academic projects, and articulate complex scientific ideas with distinction.

I specialise in teaching advanced English writing skills with a focus on thesis, dissertation, and personal statement writing. In our sessions, I provide targeted feedback on your writing, guide you through outlining and structuring arguments, and offer offline editing. I personally prefer a mix between interactive discussion and constructive feedback to aid you in refining your texts, but am flexible in tailoring my approach to the needs of each individual student. Typical lessons are 45 minutes long to discuss ideas and strategies, followed by offline revision and editing. My lessons are ideal for: (1) Undergraduate and postgraduate students writing theses or dissertations (2) University applicants drafting personal statements (UCAS, postgraduate applications, etc.) (3) Advanced secondary students seeking to improve academic writing for future university work. Whether English is your first or second language, I’ll work with you to develop clear, compelling writing that meets the expectations of competitive academic environments.
