About Afomia

Hi! I’m a recent History graduate from the University of Oxford with over five years of tutoring experience. I’m passionate about helping students feel more confident in their subjects and achieve their academic goals.

I offer a friendly, flexible and interactive approach to tutoring, adapting lessons to suit each student’s individual needs and learning style. I use past papers, exam questions and discussion-based activities to make lessons engaging while developing strong exam technique and academic skills.

I teach students from Year 7 through to university level, specialising in History at undergraduate level, while also teaching English and Religious Studies at GCSE, AS and A Level.

Whether you’re looking to improve your grades, prepare for exams or simply gain a better understanding of your subject, I’m happy to tailor lessons around what works best for you.

About the lesson

I take a flexible and interactive approach to tutoring, adapting each lesson to the student’s individual needs, goals and learning style.

I make regular use of past papers and exam-style questions to build confidence, strengthen exam technique and ensure students understand how to apply their knowledge effectively.

Lessons are typically 1 hour 30 minutes, but I am happy to adjust the length depending on what works best for the student and/or their parents.

I have over five years of tutoring experience and can teach students from Year 7 through to the final year of university.
At university level, I specialise in History, while also offering support in English and Religious Studies at a GCSE and sixth-form level.
