About Lara
Hello! I’m Lara.
I’m an Oxford English graduate and am keen to demystify the process of applying to Oxford and Cambridge, particularly through tutoring for the ELAT, which can become an enjoyable challenge once it is understood.
I am also a firm believer that English can be made enjoyable and manageable for anyone at all levels, and tutor for 11+, GCSE and A-Level, as well as offering help for regular learning not targeted at any specific exam.

I can offer help with any part of Oxbridge admissions preparation, particularly the ELAT (the English admissions exam). I also offer English tutoring from 11+ up to A-Level, both to prepare for exams and improve in normal class work.
My sessions are usually around an hour, though I am happy to alter timings if convenient. I like to talk through a specific text or essay question with the student, hearing how they would tackle a question and prompting them to extend their thought processes further before explaining how they could improve. I am also happy to look over practice essays between sessions and provide feedback.
I can also coach students in exam technique in the weeks leading up to exams by going through papers and discussing how to tackle them within a time constraint.
