About Pragna
Hello! I'm Pragna, a certified ESL instructor with over 25 years of teaching experience and a deep passion for helping learners succeed. I understand that learning a new language can be challenging, but with the right guidance, it can also be exciting and empowering. That’s where I come in. My teaching is built on trust, patience, and personalized support. I take time to understand each student’s goals, learning style, and background. Whether you're preparing for daily conversations, work-related communication, or building strong reading and writing skills, I will help you grow with confidence. I hold a TESL certification from Canada and have experience working with newcomers and adult learners in both classroom and community-based settings. My lessons are engaging, goal-oriented, and designed to help you use English in real-life situations. Students often tell me they feel comfortable, motivated, and supported in my classes—and that is the greatest reward for me as a teacher. If you're ready to learn English in a positive, respectful, and professional environment, I would be honored to guide you on your journey. Let’s learn and grow together! Ask ChatGPT Tools

Teaching Methodology and Techniques
I incorporate a blend of techniques, including:
Task-Based Learning: Real-life language use through role-plays, projects, and problem-solving tasks.
Scaffolded Instruction: Step-by-step language support to build independence.
Integrated Skills Approach: Combining listening, speaking, reading, and writing in cohesive lessons.
Visual and Interactive Tools: Flashcards, videos, realia, and digital tools to enhance comprehension.
Error Correction and Feedback: Gentle, supportive feedback to encourage learning from mistakes.
Inclusive Practices: Adapting materials to suit the diverse needs of learners from different linguistic and cultural backgrounds.
A Typical Lesson Plan
A 60-minute lesson generally follows this structure:
Warm-Up & Lead-In (10 min): Brief conversation or activity to activate prior knowledge and introduce the topic.
Vocabulary & Pre-Task (10 min): Present and practice key vocabulary or structures related to the topic.
Main Task or Reading/Listening Activity (20 min): Learners complete a comprehension or speaking activity using the target language.
Guided Practice (15 min): Controlled practice using worksheets, sentence building, or partner work.
Wrap-Up & Feedback (5 min): Review key learning points, clarify doubts, and reflect on progress.
What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor
Empathy and Patience: I create a warm, respectful, and supportive environment where learners feel safe to make mistakes and grow.
Rich Teaching Experience: My diverse teaching background helps me quickly assess learner needs and adapt strategies.
Cultural Sensitivity: As an immigrant myself, I understand the challenges newcomers face and tailor my lessons to support both language and settlement goals.
