About Andrew
Currently, I am a Year 13 Cambridge student at King's College, with high-scoring achievements in A Level English and NZQA Scholarship English. These accomplishments reflect not only my effective study methods but, more importantly, my passion and love for literature.
Beyond my studies, I have hands-on experience mentoring and tutoring students both within and outside of school. Assisting a diverse range of learners has helped me develop a teaching style that is both adaptable and enjoyable. My bilingual background in Mandarin has also been instrumental in bridging language barriers and making lessons accessible and engaging.
I am dedicated to helping students succeed in English Literature by fostering confidence, critical thinking, and practical skills. My goal is to create a valuable and lasting learning experience, driven by my enthusiasm for the subject and tailored to each student’s unique needs.

My teaching style relies heavily on, and is best expressed through, my passion for English Literature. Engagement and active conversational learning are very important to me, as I believe they are the best ways to develop skills at all levels of English Literature. I implement interactive methods and share study tips that have personally contributed to my success in the subject. Lessons are tailored to each student’s unique learning style, ensuring the approach aligns with what works best for you.
I have experience in community service tutoring, both within and outside of school, where I have mentored younger students academically. Additionally, I have taught secondary school literature to second-language Chinese speakers, leveraging my bilingual abilities. Through these experiences, my students have not only improved their grades but also developed a deeper appreciation for literature.
My lessons are ideal for secondary-level students studying NCEA or CIE. Having received high distinction in both A Levels and NZQA Scholarship English, I am confident in guiding students to achieve their goals. Sessions typically range from 1-2 hours, with flexibility to accommodate individual needs.
